Drake ~ The Motto Featuring Lil Wayne & Tyga (Official Video) from OctobersVeryOwn on Vimeo.
The much-anticipated visuals coinciding with Drake’s Take Care featured single “The Motto” have finally arrived, as the tribute to Northern California was appropriately shot in the beautiful Bay Area. Of Course the Young Money emcee brought along his mentor Lil Wayne as well as fellow Young Money rapper Tyga to round out the collaborative piece. Drake’s sophomore album Take Care recently went platinum and is in stores now.
The Sideline Story went primetime when J. Cole stopped by the David Letterman show last night to perform a live rendition (auto-tune and all) of his next single “Work Out.” The Grammy-nominated rapper repped NY with a letterman jacket and Timbs, reminding fans it’s still a Cole world. Letterman even copped a Christmas gift for Cole, whose debut album recently went gold.

Mac Miller looks to be the shining light for indie music. Featured in Forbes’ 2012 ’30 Under 30 List,’ the 19-year-old MC revealed severak secrets in his interview for his unexpected rapid rise. But if you thought Miller has made it in this industry, he certainly doesn’t think so.
“I still don’t think I necessarily made it. I think I’ve done something awesome,” Miller said when talking about his success on YouTube, Twitter and record sales. “I think making history is super cool.”
Though Miller is humble, he is the first artist to have an independent album reach the top of the charts since 1995. Blue Slide Park, released on Rostrum Records, sold 144,000 copies in its opening week. The success earned him a spot on Forbes’ first-ever ‘30 Under 30’ List. The Mac Miller difference, his reasons for a most-talked about debut, is the control over releasing content on the Internet.

Decipher recently sat down with Jackfroot and did an interview that sheds a lot of insight on his upbringing, style and beliefs. The up and coming MC represents Philly and is not hesitant to share his thoughts on a variety of topics.
“I’m an individual and I have my own story to tell. Nobody out there, Asian or not, has been in my shoes. They might have experienced very similar things but I believe I was blessed with a beautiful mind to interpret it in my own way. That’s one of the reasons I named myself Decipher. I can look at life and decode it when it seems different and look at it at an angle that most won’t.”
